Tips For Noosa North Shore & Beyond

Noosa North Shore Ferry Service Hints

  1. For a faster, efficient ferry service, please have the correct fare ready. Aboard the ferry, park up close as directed, turn off the motor and stay in the vehicle.

  2. Slow down when approaching stationary vehicles. Beach users often cannot hear you approaching.

  3. Please bring back your rubbish and leave your campsite clean.

  4. Lowest recommended tyre pressure will reduce environmental damage and lessen strain on your vehicle.

  5. Pippis and worms are a precious resource. Take only what's needed. Maximum 30 worms or 50 pippis or part there of.

  6. Don't catch your limit - limit your catch.

  7. Throw back a tiddler - it's catching.

Are dogs allowed on Noosa North Shore?

There are no dogs allowed in any National Parks. Dogs are allowed from first cutting to Teewah on the beach but not allowed on the beach past Teewah.

Can I light a camp fire?

Fires are no longer allowed in National Park (including camping grounds)

Fires (and camping) have never been allowed within Noosa Shire (Noosa River to start of Cooloola camping)

What are the speed limits?

The speed limit is 80km per hour on the beach and 50km per hour at Teewah and where there are camping areas along the beach. There are some 45km per hour stretches on the northern side of Double Island Point and areas under 45km per hour. Always check for speed limit signs. The road rules are enforced by QLD Police and there are frequent mobile speed cameras, RBT and mobile drug detection units.

Where can I camp?

Camping is only allowed in designated areas. There is no camping on the southern end of the beach in Noosa Shire. Noosa Shire operates an excellent campground however at 3rd cutting.
